Andrew McKune | |
Academic Profile: Andrew McKune is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Canberra (UC) and is a member of the UC Research Institute for Sport and Exercise where he leads the Rugby and Football Research Centre. He is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and a Research Affiliate at the Florida State University Institute for Sports Sciences and Medicine, America. He holds qualifications in sport and exercise science, medical science (physiology), strength and conditioning (CSCS) and a doctoral degree specialising in exercise immunology. He is a South African National Research Foundation C2 rated researcher and has a proven research track with 60 peer reviewed publications and ~2.5 million rand in grants including student scholarship funding (South Africa) and ~400 000 dollars (since arriving in Australia in 2015). He is an editorial board member for the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and Acta Gymnica and is an assistant editor for the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport. His primary research interests include salivary bioscience and heart rate variability applications in exercise, sport and health. Current research projects in these areas include examining immune and stress responses in international level rugby union players and cancer survivors as well as reactivity to exercise stress in post-traumatic stress syndrome in war veterans. | |
Donna Goodwin | |
Academic profile: Dr. Goodwin is a professor in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB CANADA, were she recently completed her term as the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs. She is the former director of The Steadward Centre for Personal & Physical Achievement - a research, teaching, and fitness centre for people experiencing disability. Dr. Goodwin holds the distinctions of Fellow of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity, Fellow of the North American Society of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance Professionals, and a Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal from the Govern General of Canada. She has been a visiting scholar to Norway, Korea, Hong Kong, China, and Ireland. |

Miroslav Janura | |
Academic profile: Professor Miroslav Janura works as a head of the Department of Natural Sciences in Kinanthropology at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University Olomouc, and he teaches at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava. He gives lectures in classes such as Biomechanics, Applied Biomechanics and Science Methodology. His research is based on the evaluation of postural stability and the possibility to influence the factors increasing the risk of fall. His further interest lies in the analysis of walking in various groups of population (transtibial and transfemoral amputation, osteoporosis, hallux valgus etc.). In this area, he is particularly concerned with the effect of physical activity on the change of walk stereotype, observing the changes in position and strain on adjacent segments of lower limbs and determining the effects of selective factors (biomechanical factors, structural anomalies, systemic diseases, genetic predispositions, unsuitable footwear etc.) on foot load. Professor Miroslav Janura is a chairperson of Czech National Society of International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics. | |
Hana Pernicova | |
Academic profile:Doctor Hana Pernicová has received her Ph.D. title in sports psychology. She works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Sciences in Kinanthropology at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University Olomouc. She gives lectures of Psychology and Sports Psychology and her research is focused on mental training in sport. She is a member of Association of Sports Psychologists, is also involved in a mental preparation of athletes and gives lectures on various topics from sports psychology. |
